Kuala Lumpur, 1 July 2011 – OSK Investment House (Malaysia) Berhad (OSK Malaysia), the first foreign Islamic bank in the country, officially opened its ninth branch, the first in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. The ceremony held in Kota Kinabalu today, was officiated by YAB Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Haji Aman, Chief Minister of Sabah.

In her speech, Puan Jamelah Jamaluddin, Chief Executive Officer, OSK Malaysia said, “Our Kota Kinabalu branch, which acts as the regional hub for OSK Malaysia, offers Commercial Banking services – including SME Financing, Contract Financing and Trade Finance. In addition, our Corporate and Investment Banking arm provides corporate finance advisory, Sukuk advisory and corporate financing. We also have a range of Treasury products and services. On the retail banking segment, we have been offering innovative new products such as Gold Account-i, and Personal Financing-i. We trust the people of Sabah will be able to take advantage of these various products.”

During the ceremony, the Bank also unveiled its newest advertising campaign and the new toll-free customer contact centre number, 1800 888 KFH (534), which has been tested with good response.

Puan Jamelah thanked the State Government under the leadership of the Chief Minister for providing OSK Malaysia the platform and for accommodating the Bank’s needs.

“We hope our presence in Sabah will be able to support the State’s economic development in the long run. We are happy to explore opportunities and strategic partnerships for growth in the State, as well as attract foreign investors,” commented Puan Jamelah.
